summer is no more. come and gone. a memory to be saved. catalogued.
as we move into school mode. we have to be more mindful of responsibilities.ive been out of school for 2 years.
tomorrow marks my first day as a real college student. gotta focus. stay driven.

its going to be hard, with newport firing every morning fight down my road. i feel like im in for trouble as these fall swells start rolling in...

gonna be coming at newport lineups hard. fast. strong. haha

wave been really fun a-frames as of late...clean conditions early..plenty of little fast barrels. good to start your day shacked.

ive been trying to look at waves differently..approach them with no set mind. just flow with it as it fills in on the sandbar.let my subconscious do the surfing..whatever feels right. nothing planned before dropping in..all spontaneous waveriding.

cant wait to get my longboard from hankwarner..hes been shaping me a new log...should be sickkkkk

leaving texas.

finally. after almost 4 months of texas summer heat waves and flat doldrums, i prepare myself for the return out west. and i cant wait. the cool crisp mornings of southern california have been whispering in my ears while i sleep. i feel more alive out there for some reason. forget the fact that the weather is pretty much amazing year-round..but i just feel better out there. waves or not, i just enjoy being somewhere different. texas is all i know. and ill know it forever. it will always be home, but its time to leave.

our artshow went great..could not have asked for too much better of a turn-out..230 something people were in attendance..the sushi was obliterated in 20 minutes..the music being spun out by scottyp and marshall influence was drifting through the air all nightt loud and in charge..

both movies were attentively watched, and people were hooting and drinks were flying!

leaving for austin tomorrow..say peace to some buddies there, then its out west to met up with scottyboyhaynes. gotta move into the new apartment in newport. empty the storage unit in cbad.. get shacked with jewelz@ riverjetties...all before school starts on the 28th..

nationals is coming up. this will be the first year in around 5 or 6 that i have not competed..ASR after that..

the movie is coming along very nicely..pretty stoked with what we came out with..given the flat conditions all summer and no chance for us to take trips because of our poor financial status as vagabonds and college undergraduates haha

stoked to see what tegans been working on...a soulful approach. something we could all take into the water with us!


did my first tow-ats....first surfboard i ever had..5'2
didnt get great footage of the tow-ats..pretty bummed..but it was def. a learning curve behind the lens and behind the ski HA!

soo much harder than i thought haha
