surf experimentation..

i feel like im at a stage in my surfing where i should start experimenting more.. different shapers, different shapes, sizes, fin set ups, everything..
this video pretty much sums up how i feel..ive always wanted to make a movie like this one..im still going to,,just with my twist ofcourse.


ive been trying boards by SUPER and BILL JOHNSON lately along with my normal quiver of HANK WARNERS and SPIDER MURPHYS..
ive been finding myself riding down the line on waves not even worrying about turning or ripping. been concentrating more on how the board feels and how it responds in different parts of the wave, and in different type waves altogether..

this summer, im going to make an alaia..ive been very interested in them for a few years..and now everyone is riding them and its got me FROTHING!!

alaias are the essence of surfing..where it all came from. all about trim.

talk about trim.


getting a trim line like that is so refreshing..just as sick a feeling as getting barreled or anything in surfing..you are so close to the water just flying!

im currently starting to get thigns ready to be packed for the move back to texas for the summer..figuring out what is going to go to storage and whats getting thrown out.

after dominating the gold coast, parko took down the Rip Curl Pro at Bells for two consecutive wins to start the year off on the dream tour...could this be parkos year?

two contests now that slater has been defeated by wildcards...

this event, owen wright took down SLater and DaneReynolds...this kid means business.

on the personal stage...waves havnt been too hot as of late..dawn patrolled lowers two mornings in a row earlier this week, and the wind has been on it since..

TEXAS is getting closer and closer..need to start cleaning the apartment so we can get our deposit back!

2..t.knox and macca are natural foot powerhouses..im a big power guy..you can do the craziest air in the world, but its power that gets my respect.

3..bede has done better each year since coming on tour..kids on fire. such a smooth natural footer.

4..dane and jordy...freaks. power, air, flair, whatelse? complete packages.

5..jay "bottle" thompson- such a sick style. soo smooth, and like to use power as well

6..owen wright-ripcurl wildcard...kids my age i think. freaking rips..won the first 2 or 3 australia pro jr series events this year back to back..hes on fire. def. threat. has nothing to lose against the big guys

last year slater ousted bede in the final by a small margin..0.47
1st Kelly Slater (USA) 15.63
2nd Bede Durbidge (AUS) 15.16

look for these guys to be leading the charge..slater and bede are seated into round 2.

surfed oside pier today..pretty fun..over head glassy a-frames..goodtimes good waves.

im going to be moving back to texas for the summer at the beginning of may. will work at windandwave and sushibar for the next few months while not paying rent at home..that way when i come out for school next semester, i will have some cash under me. while im home, i will be filming/surfing for a movie that i am currently starting/working on. we will premiere it at an artshow before we head back out to the west coast in august..hopefully while in tx i will do a strategic strike mission to MEX!

another sleepless night..

got off work couple of hours ago and am completely energized..gonna try to put my meditation practices to work/use..see if i can get calm and tired and go to sleep ha.

havnt surfed in a few days..its killing me. im going out tomorrow no matter what. wind. rain. flat. or worse.

just need to get WETT.

the 2nd stop on the WCT is about to start at BELLS BEACH, OZ next week. There is going to be some CHANGE in the seating format. the top 16 are placed into ROUND 2 for the remainder of the year in any event that implements the new format. this format allows for events to be completely finished in 3 DAYS to maximize quality potential in a solid swell..there will no longer be a losers round. man on man elimination. its going to get INTERESTING. follow everything HERE


here is to claiming my fathers surf shop in TEXAS...surfed a solid run of southern energy at LOWERS last week and did some tagginggg..hopefully pictures to come if the photog sends them this way.

here is a video of BRENT ATCHLEY, pro for Element. I cant stop watching his parts..he is so fluid and makes everything look so simple and effortless...that is something i truly admire in boardsports, sports, or life for that matter.
