DANCING ON WATER...

today marks the first day of logging ( no pun intended) footage for my video dancing on water..
tegan, frankchop, and I went out to northside packery and caught some really fun waves..not the best conditions, but we def. made due with what was to be had..some nice waves were coming though..

back in TEJAS

well it was not a very eventful drive..but i guess thats good? 20 hour drive from carlsbad california to austin texas..
micah got pulled over, but the tx ranger just gave him a howdy do, a warning, and a have a goodun sir.. was a pretty drive though...for how long it was, it went really smoothly and wasn't that bad..some parts of the land we drove through were just blooming with flowers and just green everywhere..pleasant on the eyess.

got to austin about 8:00 in the evening and went and hung out with some good buddies of ours..went to couple of parties..micah saw the band DREDG at Emos.
our friend from california, JOEY who sings for his band Thieves and Liars, was in town with Dredg..he is their merchandise guy..good to party with a good friend back in our home..met some of scottyps other friends in austin..all good people.

saw a few really good friends in austin..had lunch with emily, rachel, scottyhaynes, jasongrove, and micah...tecate and modelo girls were hanging out free beers..it was great.

we drove back to corpus to find some fun waves at bobhall and packery...
already had plenty of good times..

so far..everything has been awesome. and looks like its going to stay that way.

getting our deposit back..

our lease ends april 30th.. today is the 28th. 11:00PM..
we are definitely trying to get our deposit back..its around $750..a good chunk of cash. need it for the 1500 mile drive back to TEXAS for the summer.

tomorrow is finish filling up the storage unit, and start cleaning the carpet and bathrooms.
we are pretty broke..so we have rented the smallest storage space available, thus are forced to be selective with our belongings..whats good to keep and what to let go of..been taking tons of things to thrift store drop-offs.

surf experimentation..

i feel like im at a stage in my surfing where i should start experimenting more.. different shapers, different shapes, sizes, fin set ups, everything..
this video pretty much sums up how i feel..ive always wanted to make a movie like this one..im still going to,,just with my twist ofcourse.


ive been trying boards by SUPER and BILL JOHNSON lately along with my normal quiver of HANK WARNERS and SPIDER MURPHYS..
ive been finding myself riding down the line on waves not even worrying about turning or ripping. been concentrating more on how the board feels and how it responds in different parts of the wave, and in different type waves altogether..

this summer, im going to make an alaia..ive been very interested in them for a few years..and now everyone is riding them and its got me FROTHING!!

alaias are the essence of surfing..where it all came from. all about trim.

talk about trim.


getting a trim line like that is so refreshing..just as sick a feeling as getting barreled or anything in surfing..you are so close to the water just flying!

after dominating the gold coast, parko took down the Rip Curl Pro at Bells for two consecutive wins to start the year off on the dream tour...could this be parkos year?

two contests now that slater has been defeated by wildcards...

this event, owen wright took down SLater and DaneReynolds...this kid means business.

on the personal stage...waves havnt been too hot as of late..dawn patrolled lowers two mornings in a row earlier this week, and the wind has been on it since..

TEXAS is getting closer and closer..need to start cleaning the apartment so we can get our deposit back!
