time to get lost.
lost in this world.
may there be no limitation.
no boundary.
no borders.
set forth with new found beliefs.
see the world for its natural mystic.
get in tune with yourself and nature.
bathe in her essence.
exist in her heavenly glow.
be neighbors with our fellow celestial bodies.
one universal family.
for you are a star.
a star that shines bright across a vast expanse.
there you are, bright and beautiful.
forever glowing.
may your fire never cease to burn.
may you never be vanquished into darkness.
may your spark ignite the minds and hearts of other young spirits.
what month are we in again? boardshorts and bikinis in december? and I thought they said it was going to be a collddddddd winter! ha.
maybe in time we shall see winter arrive, and i hope it does. i enjoy those crisp mornings on the beach and clear starry night skies.
but no complaining here...south texas winters.
we live in a beautiful place. go out and enjoy it.
drifting silently.
under the radar.
from one cloud to another.
effortlessly.
flowing with the wind.
yet i keep my direction.
I may be wandering,
but I'm not lost.
in fact, I'm found.
a true form.
adapting to situations.
to survive.
to live.
to prosper.

it's been a year since I left Kauai already.
although I miss that magical place, the good times have never stopped.
time to rewind a bit and look back on the past times we've had.
and here's to more traveling in the future.
summer is here. enjoy.

"a vagabond of the soul. penetrates the times. he has drifted. floating through the present. not thinking about the past. but not forgetting it. not thinking about the future. but not fearing it. a wanderer of this lifetime. transcends reality and its illusions. stuck in between. between some plane of relevance. or is it irrelevance? a vagabond of the soul searches on. just when you find him, he's gone."

jrr, dan, pascal, and anne came down this weekend and we had a hell of a time! drinkin wine into the early hours of the morning or late hours of the night! traveling the coast living off of foodstamps and beer. good to have the beachscum in the house!
met up with nickfunk for our weekly monday surf sesh @ salt creek...good times and good waves!
was glassy the whole session, random rain showers, and endless waves. i love this place. waves for days!
as i look out my little window (my very own vantage point from the sky), i can see for miles. my mind wanders endlessly over the vast mountain ranges that lie below. i can only guess what its like down there. if its as beautiful as it is from above, we have nothing to worry about. as they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. i believe in that statement.
im longing to escape. the time is now, or so everyone says. even the nice lady sitting next to me on the plane says so. she's writing in her journal as i am mine. she is from illinois but lives in missouri. she's heading to california for a business meeting. its funny how you meet people through travel. this plane is full of people, but my seat is assigned next to her, and we began to talk. im glad i met her. as soon as we lifted off, she started writing in her journal. made me realize i havnt been writing lately. so here i am.
from the looks of the land, i guess we are over new mexico somewhere now. its april and there is still snow on the highest peaks. when i flew this way in january, every bit of land was covered in snow. bodies of water iced over. now all that remains are the last patches of snow, holding onto winter through the oncoming heat of summer.
its funny to drink a beer in the sky if you visualize it. if i were on the ground directly below the airplane drinking a beer, all would be fine. but im suspended in the air, transcending time and distance, yet still drinking this beer. maybe im just excited cause its my first beer on an airplane. ha
now i see a torn and tattered landscape. scarred from years of erosion and effected by the movement of humanity. railroad lines linking the east to west. many folks have ventured this way before. they just never had it as easy as we.
now my mind has moved on to the sky. the mirror image of the sea, with its great stretches of blue. its vast emptiness is anything but that. it is full of everything. the rolling white clouds are the waves of the sky. the movement is similar. when i was kid, i always wanted to fly. here i am, flying regularly from place to place. am i happy? yes. but i still want to fly.
looks as if we are coming out of the mountains now. i see miles and miles of land washed away by rivers of times present and past. it looks so barren. what lives down there? who lives down there? what do they do? i guess we will have to find out one day.
its funny to look about the plane. the different people. faces. the variety of emotions. the lady behind me looks sad. someone in first class is angry because their drink spilled. the kid 2 seats over hasnt stopped laughing the whole flight. everyone is in their own world. headphones on. watching movies. listening to music. people are sleeping. reading. chatting. theres a baby crying somewhere, but i think it fell asleep.
patches of farmland stretch to the end of what seems the world now. the patchwork of earth as seen from the sky. so thats how earth is knitted all together. by parcels of land that people own and violators will be prosecuted. (or shot in texas)
its been a fun time traveling this break. flew from the western shores to the eastern seaboard. drove through the south. now flying back west. sounds like i need to go north sometime. maybe north101 will do for now. ventura is calling me. emma wood i love you.
ready to just kick back on my back porch and let the pacific breeze blow. hopefully my wind chimes will move. i can use some music.
back on the grind as they say. school in the morning at 8. how wonderful. its really not that bad, but id rather be surfing. ill surf afterwards anyways, so its all good.
as long as you keep a happy face and put yourself in a happy place, then you will win the happy race.
pursuit of happiness:
if theres anything you get out of my life, know that i lived to tell this story. i developed a strong bond with this earth, and lived everyday in its glory. the beauty of nature grabbed a hold of me at a young age. i was in awe of life through each and every stage. life starts with birth, and ends with death. even plants sometimes lose their last breath. people are born into a world of unknowns. often times we don't find answers until we are grown. some answers may never be found, but don't stop asking. looking in the wrong places doesn't mean you are lacking. theres this thing called love, which i myself have yet to figure out. and each persons pursuit of happiness starts with venturing about. some people say dive in, some say test the waters first. i say live in it, it cant be that much worse. follow your dreams, and you will go far. your dreams have no limit, so reach for the stars. i followed my dreams, and now i have new ones. i acted upon them and now i must move on. follow your heart most of all, and all will be fine. your pursuit of happiness is just that, and my pursuit is mine.
this weekend was a blast. now a memory of the past. went up to ventura for my 21st birthday weekend. ha. me, micahsteph, jrrwatson, milbyshannon, zanespang, and dantheman kicked it for 3 nights straight raging the town. from folk singers to st patricks day parades. weve seen it all this weekend! bob marley and little ponies. cstreet is hurtyourfeet stony. bombing hills cheap shack thrills. stripped poles and donut holes. dance offs and bbq pits. emma wood is sick when she spits. im 21 lets have some fun. morning coffees. get that off mees. sunny days and wandering ways. fish and chips. asparagus bits. artshows and heartblows. back yard sheds and latenight shreds. hahaha cant say much more!
JRR came up and visited last night. woke up today to go surf and the moment we hit the water, the wind starting a howlin'!! got blown out in 5 minutes. what to do now?
decided to go hit the volcom park a few miles away. once it started raining there, it was to the indoor vans park.
gotta new SUPERsled. 5'10 dion model..things sick! surf wasnt that good today, but the board had so much energy and life in it! stoked on it! cant wait to test it again. tomorrow morning its on! time to get "collectively modern". am i cool if i say that? surfed river jetties today for 2 hours by myself. just me and the sea. and the pelicans, dolphins, whales and endless energy it embodies. picked the wizard aka jurassic acid aka scottperry up from the airport down in SD. looking forward to good times with our mate!
for allowing us the freedom to go surfing haha! went down to san clemente on presidents day. so did everyone else in the world though haha so crowded. we then moved up the beach to the sc pier. first time session there for me. heres some still frames from the short clip i made which is here. -->presidents day in san clemente
walked the trail down to trestles before the sun rise that morning. what a beautiful day in southern california. maybe this is why i live here!? haha
amongst the metropolis, we somehow manage to find some room to move.
but im not complaining. in fact, i enjoy it when it rains. because when it clears up, the lighting is often my favorite.
just finished first week of second semester at OCC. catching up on some readingg material these past couple of rained in days. the ocean is dirty. again. from all the rainfall and urban runoff. damn, that word sounds horrible. atleast its windy too, so the waves are a mumbled jess!
back to my school work..and art when im uninspired to do school work :)
